In the round of 8 in the WCS America for StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, Jaedong uses an incredibly effective build order versus Hack, where he decided to go for a Roach Overlord Drop in Zerg versus Terran. In this video we take a look at the build order that EGJaedong uses versus the Terran player STHack, and how we can use this build order in our own games.
15 Hatchery
17 Extractor
16 Spawning Pool
17 Overlord
Zergling Speed + Double Queen
Pull 2 Drones off Gas
Around ~50 Gas (after killing the SCV scout) put 2 Drones back in Gas
5:30- 5:40 Lair + Triple Extractor
Stop droning at full saturation
Ventral Sacs (Overlord Drop)
Glial Reconstitution (Roach Speed)
Pneumatized Carapace (Overlord Speed)
Roaches
Overlord
Push Out
When moving out with all your Roaches, put down a Nydus Network.
Drop in the Terran main, right around the 9:30 mark.
While dropping, throw down the Nydus Worm in the Terran mainbase, and rally all Hatcheries to the Nydus Network. This way you can instantly reinforce into the fight.
Important to note: This is meant to kill your opponent. You do not have a 3rd Hatchery to fall back on, you do not have a Queen or two dedicated to creep spreading, you do not have anything to deal with early aggression (except for two Queens and potential Zerglings with Speed)and there are no double upgrades.
Why this works? Most Terran players instantly assume a macro game, which means they need a quick 3rd Command Center, while defending with Bunkers at the front of their Natural to stay safe. This strategy abuses this defensive position of the Terran, by completely avoiding the natural Command Center and Bunkers, and going straight for the main base where the Terran Production is located.
